YEONGJIM
Introduction:The term Yeongjim comes from the Korean word "Yeonghon"
which means "Soul" and "Jimseung" which means "Beast". Yeongjim have special sanctuaries built for them by the mortals because of how rare they are in the mortal world. They are said to have originated as pets to the celestials, but due to their fascination with the mortals, they were granted their wish to be independent beings who are able to reside on a plane closer to the mortal realm. Yeongjim are omnivores; naturally
you will find them eating plants and berries, but if they should ever consume blood of a human or Yeongjim, they will mutate and become pure carnivores. Yeongjim are able to reproduce, once they have found a mate, regardless of gender(MAGIC!). If a Yeongjim finds a mate, they are mated for life, and in rare circumstances, they will find mates outside of their breed.
Yeongjim Types:
-Jeolban: Stemming from the word "halfling", Jeolban are Yeongjim who have mated with humans(or other humanoid species*). They represent creatures who are commonly in the mortal household as pets(cats/dogs/birds).
-Sujub:Stemming from the word "shy"(sujub-en), Sujub are skittish and meek creatures. They are represented by rodent creatures, which have mixed reactions from the mortals.
-Yasaeng: Stemming from the word "wild", Yasaeng are the non-domesticated side of the animal spectrum. They are represented by creatures found in the wild, and more prone to be wary of the mortals.
-Daeyang: Stemming from the word "ocean", Daeyang are usually hidden beneath the ocean's surface, but do, on rare occasions, approach the shoreline. They are represented by animals you will find lingering in the depths of the sea.
-Jeonseoul: Stemming from the word "legend", Jeonseouls are almost never seen by any mortals because they are rare to be bred, and most commonly found in royal families. They are represented by mythical or legendary creatures.
-Ag: Stemming from the word "evil", Ag are Yeongjim who have been corrupted, who have eaten the flesh and blood of a creature not meant to be in their diet(mortals or Yeongjim). This form of corruption can occur to any of the Yeongjim types. Their mutation is represented by insects.
*If permitted by other closed species makers, you can hybridize Yeongjim with other closed species, but for the time being, they will be mating with humans or other Yeongjim.
Yeongjim Traits:
-Yeonghon Boseog(Soul Jewel): These are magical soul jewels stones that give Yeongjim life, and if they break, they will die; all Yeongjim have soul jewels hidden somewhere on their body(usually covered by hair or clothing). It is also worth noting that all Yeongjim have a single colored soul, but when they find their mate, their jewel's color mixes with the color of their mates' jewel as well. The Jeolban have simple geometric-shaped jewels, such as circles, squares(rectangles), and triangles. Sujub have oval or diamond-shaped Yeonghon Boseog. Yasaeng have creative geometric-shaped soul jewels, commonly shaped like a spot or marking. Daeyang's jewels are shaped like scales. Jeonseols have more "fancy" shaped Yeonghon Boseog's, such as hearts, stars, crescent moons, etc. Ag's soul jewels are shaped as their non-mutated form, only they are chipped or cracked.
-Ears: Each Yeongjim subspecies has their own unique ear styles. Jeolbans have ears most commonly found in domesticated animals(cats/dogs). Sujub tend to have rodent ears(mice/rats/rabbits). Yasaeng will have ears resembling wild animals. Daeyang have head fins in place of ears. Jeonseols have ears related to mythical creatures or horns. Ag will have have insect antenna.
-Eyes: The eyes are a big tell among Yeongjim types. Jeolban have single-colored irises with dotted pupils. Sujub's eyes are single-colored with large pupils. Yasaeng have sectoral heterochromia(2 colors) with slit pupils. Daeyang have sectoral heterochromia(2 colors) with a ring around their dotted pupil. Jeonseols have sectoral heterochromia(3 colors) with crescent-shaped pupils. Ag have whatever eye color they had before their mutation, black sclera, and 3 dots for pupils.
-Wings: Like any stereotypical mythical beast, Yeongjim have wings to differentiate between them, except for the Jeolban who have none. Sujub has a small pair of wings. Yasaeng have medium-sized wings. Jeonseol have multiple(2+) pairs of wings(top pair are larger than the others). Ag have however many wings they had before(if any) but have mutated into insect wings.
Tails Every Yeongjim has a tail. Jeolbans have a single tail. Sujub has one tail that splits towards the end. Yasaeng have twin(dual) tails. Daeyang have a fish* tail which transforms, depending on if they are in the ocean. Jeonseols have multiple tails(3+). Ag have an insect abdomen instead of a tail.
*Or other ocean creature.
